Walkabout

When I’m walking around the city I’m not looking for anything in particular to photograph. I might shoot something like the shot here in the LES skatepark under the Manhattan Bridge or I might have my tripod setup hunting light trails, but I will Most likely  be sitting in a bar taking a shot of a beer for another site I run because beer is delicious for those of you who are of age to enjoy it. Please forgive the shit grammar, I’m learning to write better but with old age comes a stubbornness that doesn’t want to learn new things.

Friday Morning Walkabout

Shot from a Friday morning walkabout with Lorenzo Mitil who was out shooting some Cinestill BwXX around the Financial District in Lower Manhattan. Side note check out the Oculus during the morning rush hour, it’s like watching an episode of Planet Earth the only thing missing is Sir David Attenborough narrating.

Street Portraits

I went out with Alex for a walkabout around lower Manhattan to get some street portraits . While we were walking around the Financial District in Lower Manhattan near the corner of Pearl and Hanover Square I saw the perfect light for what I was looking to get and the light pole he was leaning on was just and added bonus to get to him to pose for the camera.

New York

I was able to work with the gentleman Gloss Black who painted this mural on another mural project with the man Serringe who brought me on as a second camera which in itself is a great honor to me being asked by someone who has been honing his craft for years and would even think to give me a chance to assist him on a project. Seeing this mural on my walkabout today really made me smile and brought up so good thoughts about how far I have come on this journey with a camera in my hand.

I chase the light

Like the title says I chase the light when I’m on a walkabout. I love an area the has a large amount buildings that are close together where it chops the light up and bounces the light off other buildings, it is I my opinion the best free studio any photographer can afford.

Life in a big city

Living in or around a big city like New York City even for a short amount of time is something that everyone should experience for the only fact that you will learn more about yourself in a big city then you will anyway else. I can’t really explain what I mean, but it can and will change your views real quick.

A Photographers Playground

Chinatown in Manhattan is one place where everyone from locals to the tourist seem to gravitate towards and I don’t have an explanation why. I can spend a week just wondering around here and not get bored with anything I see.

Morning Grind

Coffee, Water, Beer and not always in the order. I stopped by 787 Coffee in the East Village yesterday and I can say the coffee was good enough to make into my cabinet. A little side note, I am a bit basis towards coffee grown in Puerto Rico.

Neon Portraits with Mr. Mitil

Was out and about with Lorenzo Mitil in NYC and decided I should jump on the neon portrait bandwagon. This was meant to be a joke, but I’m not going to lie I’m digging these neon themed portraits. You can check out Mr. Mitil’s work with film photography at https://www.lorenzomitil.com/
