With a make shift studio and some budget continuous lighting you can pull off something pretty decent. These were the first set of shots I took for Giancarlo Arcieri after watching build this violin from the start to finish which in itself was a great experience to watch and getting the document it made it all that much better.
This Canon is getting close to retirement and the decision on the next camera to replace it hasn’t been the easiest to make, switching when you have built up a few lenses and you know the camera in and out is hard especially when you aren’t someone who has money to burn, but when need to upgrade to keep up with the times, you need to make sure what you get is going to be able to cover all aspects of what you doing and I’m one of the people who believe gear doesn’t matter and this is truer then anything, but the clients you might deal with don’t believe it and it’s cheaper in the long run to get what will eventually make you the most on a return for your investment. With all the being said I’m partial to shooting some video every now and then and the Sony A7R III is looking pretty good right now.
There are beers you drink warm and then there are beers that are better ice cold and we mean so cold that a layer of frost builds up on the bottle when it hits the open air of a hot summer day. We found the fine folks from Bomber Jackets on Instagram a while back and sometimes being fans of the cold beer persuasion these guys peak our interest with the artwork on their koozies that come in a variety for bottles and cans. This was from first time I was able to sit with Giancarlo Arcieri (GC for short) while he was making a violin, a process I never seen before even with all the hours of watching shows like How It’s Made.
I have a need to take a picture of every beer I drink and also to get creative on how it is shot because of the need to try and hopefully different from the thousands and thousands of other people taking shots of their beers. You can see all of them over on The Liver Bashers.
I do make fun of my friend Jessica and call her flower art hipster shit I do have to admit it is very creative. While we were getting shots of them people did keep stoping her to tell her much they liked them so she might be on to something here regardless of smartass opinion. Anyway give her a follow over at Created & Reincarnated and it you are interested is purchasing her art you can find it over on Etsy. Remember Mothers Day is this weekend and it would make a nice gift. Happy Mothers Day to all the good moms out there!
This blurry violin was in the shop for a neck reset.
